Meet the family:

We are Richard and Sue, with Daniel (23) and Timothy (21).
We have three cats: Cleo, Sophia and Tessa.

The four human members of the family come from England, but moved to Cyprus in October 1997. We are here to work with media for Christian groups in the Middle East - at least, Richard is - supported from the UK. You can read about some of what he does in his work at his blog.

If you want to know about Cyprus, its weather, and our current everyday activities, you can check my blog. If you'd prefer to read about how we settled in when we moved here back in October 1997, and continue forwards, see my first 'Life in Cyprus' page or access the 1997 - 1998 index.

For family news in a nutshell, see the latest Christmas newsletter, which links to previous ones. If you're thinking about moving to the island, or wondering about basic questions such as what foods are available, and how to find a home, see my site, Living in Cyprus, which has links to other sites related to living and working here.

When we first moved here, we embarked on home education as a temporary measure while settling in. It proved so successful and enjoyable that we continued. I documented our progress, and have now uploaded approximately monthly accounts of our home education diary over the years. You can read more general information about home educating (primarily in the UK) on my home education site.

Daniel left home in January 2006,  to join the floating bookship MV Doulos for two years. After a furlough in the spring of 2008, he returned for another two years, and is now head of the audio-visual department. He expects to leave the ship in April 2010.  You can read about Daniel's life at sea and elsewhere, at his blog.

Tim is now at university in the UK, attending Newman University in Birmingham, studying theology for education. He has just started his second year, and hopes eventually to be a primary school teacher, specialising in RE. He is also the regular pianist with the Bournville Young Singers.
